A New T.V.

Well, we did it.  We finally purchased a new television.  It’s a 37 inch flat screen and it’s really nice.  We’ve been married for 8 years and had never bought a TV for ourselves.  My sweet brother and sister-in-law gave us one as a wedding present about 9 years ago and it was still working but the picture was starting to go out.  Of course we were mesmerized when we watched it.  The color is amazing.  Unfortunately, the we had only had the TV about 24 hours when our laptop decided to croak.  Unbelievable.

Now, if you know anything about the Garrison’s, you know that above all things we are tightwads.  Not with everything, but definitely with major purchases for our home.  You would be dumbfounded if you only know how little furniture and appliances we have actually bought since we’ve been married.  We love hand me downs, freebies, other people’s throw aways.  We are minimalists.  But, we cannot do without a good laptop in our home.  We use to work, to communicate with friends around the globe, to shop.  So 24 hours after buying that 37 inch beauty, we purchased another beauty- the laptop that is under my hands right now.  We are hopeful that someone with major skill can retrieve a few things off our old one but most things we had backed up.  So don’t be surprised if you don’t see us out around town for a while.  We will be hold up in our home, not spending money, trying to recover from the shock of having two brand new, really nice items in our possession.  Who knows?  I might just become a snob.

  1. Jennifer, I am so glad you got a blog. You make me laugh and I am looking forward to all the laughs I will get to have in the future because of this blog. Plus, it’s always fun to keep up with the Garrisons!!! Love ya, girl. And congrats on the new purchases!

  2. That’s great! I know all 4 of you will enjoy it. When we bought the condo in Fl., we got a large screen TV. Then when we went back to KY, I finally had to buy one there, too.
